There are currently more than 50,000 young men of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints serving voluntary full-time, two year missions, at their own expense, in more than 500 missions around the world. They are between 18 and 26 years old, they speak speak their native language or learn one of more than 50 foreign (to them) languages, they interrupt their schooling or vocations, and they work 12-14 hours each day teaching and serving the people where they are assigned (they do not get to choose where they are sent) to labor. They are the living embodiment of Christ's Great Commission.
This news is encouraging on the surface, but we must reserve judgment on it, due to some mitigating factors - 1) they may be attending churches that are little more than liberal social clubs; places that do not teach or even believe in what the Bible declares, 2) they may have never repented and trusted Christ for salvation, and are now simply religious but lost, and 3) they may not change their lives, continuing to live in sin, helping no one, even themselves.
And on a related note, it is extremely disturbing to see this report at a place connected to the sick, foul-mouthed, violence-loving, Jew-hating J. D. Rucker. The man is in the process of destroying his own site (The Liberty Daily) with his opposition to everything true, good and right, yet makes a good living pretending to be a conservative and a Christian. This alliance is nauseating and unaceptable. He is the last person on earth to be reporting on anything related to our faith!
“but uncompromised proclamation of the Gospel that has always transformed lives and societies.” This is the key. Pastors preach the whole council of God without compromise. He will do the rest.
This "genocide" you reference; where is it happening? Are you speaking of the "genocide" in Gaza, where the population has grown dramatically over the last several years? If you had any fear of the One True God of the Bible, you would not post bald-faced lies at a public forum. Where because our president ended their Muslim terror regime that slaughtered its own citizens, the people can now live freely, and where Christianity can now grow?
